BDC Laboratories is pleased to share that Bill Carlson has been promoted to Managing Director. In this role, Bill will guide long-term strategic planning, support continued growth across the organization, and ensure the company remains focused on delivering rigorous, standards-based testing and simulation solutions for cardiovascular device developers.
Bill joined BDC Laboratories in 2023 as Director of Sales and Marketing, bringing more than 30 years of experience in sales, product marketing, and product management. Since then, he has played a key role in strengthening customer engagement and advancing BDC’s capabilities. His leadership has helped maintain the technical rigor and reliability that customers expect from us.
“Bill combines technical expertise with an exceptional customer-facing mindset,” said Rich Adams, CEO of Tentamus North America. “He understands what our medical device partners need from a testing and simulation provider, and he’s committed to meeting those needs with rigor, responsiveness, and collaboration.”
Strengthening Lifecycle Support Through Collaboration
As part of BDC’s broader strategy, the company continues to build partnerships that expand the support available to engineering and regulatory teams. One example is BDC’s collaboration with CardioMed Device Consultants, a partner within the Tentamus network. The relationship brings together BDC’s testing, equipment, and silicone simulation expertise with CardioMed’s regulatory and clinical insight, giving device teams more comprehensive support from early feasibility through post-market planning.
Building on Recent Expansion and Academic Partnerships
Bill’s promotion follows several initiatives that continue to broaden BDC’s technical capabilities and industry reach. Most recently, BDC announced a strategic collaboration with the Dilawri Cardiovascular Institute (DCI) to enhance clinically relevant cardiovascular device testing. Through this partnership, BDC is equipping DCI’s Center for Cardiovascular Translational Science with the high-performance HDTi-6000 pulse duplicator. The initiative supports BDC’s commitment to aligning bench testing methodologies with the realities of clinical practice.
